Academy Overview

Pioneer Student Leadership Academy is an annual residential leadership training and long term mentoring program for underserved and underrepresented college students.

Academy's Objectives

  • Provide leadership training and workforce readiness skills to these students who otherwise may have proportional access to traditional leadership "training grounds."

  • Offer these students long term mentorship opportunities with corporate sponsors and leaders

  • Produce a Pioneers In Education Family Network of volunteers, sponsors, mentors and alumni, all committed to the professional growth of these students.

The PLSA Overview

Academy

  • Focuses on leadership and mentoring
  • Hosted annually by an Alliance Partner in partnership with a major university
  • No cost to students
  • Administerd by PSLA Mentoring Network members

Students

  • Can come from any college or university
  • Must be college sophomores, juniors or seniors
  • Should be majoring in a STEM or related discipline
  • Can receive college credit

Corporate Sponsors

  • Can select and sponsor students
  • Are encouraged to attend PSLA and join the mentoring network
  • Are given access to PSLA student data base for new talent
